Student Initiatives

Just a quick note from the NASSM Student Initiatives Committee for all those headed to Denver in a few weeks. We have a fantastic line up of initiatives for all student members attending - a few of which have some upcoming deadlines, so please read on and share with anyone who might be interested.

This year, the Student Luncheon will take place on Thursday, June 1st at 12:00pm. Lunch will be provided to all student members who attend and we will be announcing the winners of the student elections. Please come out and support the nominees. The Luncheon will take place in Mt. Sopris B.

The Faculty-Student Mentor Initiative is a great way to connect with members, learn, and build your professional network. Students who are interested in participating should connect with Mark Slavich by May 5th to sign up.

Katie Reifurth has been hard at work assembling a panel of faculty who will be speaking about student writing. Whether you are writing scholarship applications, proposals, dissertations, or job applications you should check out the Student Symposium on Saturday June 3rd at 11:00am.

The much-anticipated Student Social will be taking place at Ace Eat Serve (a ping pong bar!) on Thursday evening. So don't miss a great evening of socializing planned by Kayla Smith.

Finally, we are also accepting nominations for next year's (2017-2018) student initiatives committee. If you are interested in nominating yourself, please check out the information regarding Elections and submit your nomination before May 12th.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Denver. Safe travels!
